- Instead of hard delete, where the item will be deleted immediately, have soft delete, where the item will be permanently deleted after a certain number of days but can be recovered before that (see iPhone photos)
- Have backups for user data, such as Supabase’s Point-In-Time-Recovery and/or Cloudflare’s R2 or Backblaze's B2 Cloud Storage (Pebblely's incident)
