• Instead of hard delete, where the item will be deleted immediately, have soft delete, where the item can be recovered within a few days and will be permanently deleted after that (see iPhone photos), or have archive, where the item is removed from view but always recoverable.
• Have backups for user data, such as Supabase’s Point-In-Time-Recovery and/or Cloudflare’s R2 or Backblaze's B2 Cloud Storage (Pebblely's incident)
