Mencius: A farmer in the state of Song was anxious because his crops weren't growing fast enough. To speed up the process, he went out into his field and spent the entire day pulling every single sprout up by a few inches. He returned home exhausted, boasting to his family, "I’m worn out today, but I helped the seedlings grow!" His son ran to the field only to find all the plants withered and dead.
