Things that worked for us
0-1
- EASY and a consistent routine such as feeding breakfast at 7 every day
- Pat on the cot to sleep
- Let baby learn to self soothe to fall asleep but not cry it out
- Pants diaper for bedtime to avoid leak and help extend sleep time
1-2
- Routine
- Fruits > Snacks
- Potty training?
2-3
- Routines
- Morning routine: Wake up, no milk bottle, brush teeth, wash face, change to school uniform, and leave house by 7:30 latest
- Night routine: Shower, some play time or fruits and milk, brush teeth, read two books in the room with dim lights, off room light and keep a small dim desk lamp, hug him and tell him I love him, and then let him fall asleep himself. If he calls for me, give short boring answers from outside the room. He would want me to help him do things like turn off a light or remove a bag from the room; I limit how many things I do.
- Toddler training clock because he wakes up too early around 5-6
- Shifting him from our room to his own room so that he learns to be independent and we get back our own room
- I stopped urging him to feed himself, and he eventually started to. He has already been feeding himself in school but refused to at home (perhaps because he regressed after having a younger sibling). But it eventually worked out well.
- Potty training (still wip; starting earlier might have been better)
