- Tutor me personally for all subjects when I was in primary school. I barely attended any outside tuition classes except just before PSLE to shore up one of my weaker subjects a bit.
- Even at secondary and JC levels, I was always welcome to approach them for help with my homework
- Bring me to Science Center, Botanic Gardens/Sungei Buloh/Pulau Ubin, museums, concerts, historical sites etc, and not just to look look see see but they would actually discuss the points of interest with me at length
- Do mini projects together like arts and crafts and idk if other 90s kids remember this but there was this young scientist card thing where you would have to do various science related challenges written on the card to earn enough stars to qualify for a badge.
- When my mother sent me for piano lessons, she would actually stick around to note the issues the teacher highlighted and then sit beside me as I practiced to ensure I corrected my mistakes
- I joined a painting class during uni for fun. One day my father decided to join as well and progressed so quickly to the point where he became the most advanced student in the class and I was asking him for guidance more often than the teacher
- Whenever something breaks around the house, my dad tries to fix it himself whenever possible instead of sending/calling for repair and makes me help to fix it
